Founders of Colibri Photonics are Dr. Elmar Schmälzlin and Marvin Stolz.
Dr. Elmar Schmälzlin (left) graduated with a degree in physical chemistry at the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich and received his Ph.D. 2000 in the field of nonlinear optics. Afterwards he worked as a field sales engineer for optical communication technique. In 2003 he joined the University of Potsdam as a postdoctoral research fellow. His research interests are optical sensors and their miniaturization for biological applications. 2011 he took over a position as group leader at the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Research.
Dipl. Kfm. Marvin Stolz, M. Sc. (right) studied business at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) and at the University of Potsdam. In 2008 he joined Colibri's preceding science project at the chair of Physical Chemistry at the Institut of Chemistry (Prof. Löhmannsröben/UPPC) at the University of Potsdam. In 2011 he successfully obtained his degree Master of Science at the TU Berlin.
